Vingt heures Vin, the Wine Bar for True Parisians!
If you want to experience a “real” Parisian wine bar, head to Vingt heures Vin in Montmartre. Here, there’s no fuss and no overpriced items… Great wines, super-friendly service, generous portions, and a laid-back, friendly atmosphere—welcome to the Parisians’ hangout!
The home of Languedoc wines is Vingt heures Vin
“Making people feel at home, with warmth and simplicity,” is a phrase Alexandre, the owner of this small wine bar in the Montmartre neighborhood, likes to repeat.
On the corner of Rue Lepic, Vingt Heures Vin is always packed. In a space no larger than 40 square meters, fine wines jostle for space among Parisians of all ages who have clearly recognized that the selection here is top-notch!
Alexandre, a native of the South, serves as an ambassador for Languedoc wines while keeping a 360-degree view of the wine world, offering 150 selections—mostly natural, organic, and biodynamic. A winning bet! The guys at the bar can’t get enough! Meet Greg and François, longtime friends from their youth and, above all, regulars at the spot.
Counter Interview: Two Parisian Regulars at Vingt Heures Vin
Greg & François
What are you drinking?
François: Greg picked it—it’s our go-to bottle!
Greg: Oh yeah! He’s crazy, uh… no, NADA—that’s the name of the wine. It’s funny because we didn’t know the grape variety; it’s called LLEDONER PELUT!!
Why do you come to Vingt heures Vin?
François: So, we come here for two reasons: first of all, the “big boss” here, Alexandre, is super cool.
Greg: Yeah! And he’s really welcoming! Plus, the food is great—it’s fresh, generous, unpretentious, and best of all, we get…
François: DU MONT D’OR, straight from the farmer at the peak of the season! A delight! In short, it’s a place that’s not overhyped; it stays authentic, just like the owner and Maeva (heart) (heart) (heart), who nails the service with a warm smile.
Greg: And let’s face it, this is a place for connoisseurs. When you ask a tricky question about wine, the staff behind the bar really know their stuff! You get real pro advice!
When do you come to Vingt heures vin?
François: Tonight, Greg dragged me here. But usually we come on our own, accompanied by “a friend”…. (no comment)
Greg: Yeah, the girls love coming here. It feels good, kind of like home 😉
