On the right bank: Château Saint Jean, with its bastide and Provençal charm… On the left bank, perched on a promontory: Château Rousset, with its majestic towers and imposing architecture…. We are just a few kilometers from the charming little town of Manosque. Here, vineyards stand side by side with olive trees and truffle oaks… Landscapes dear to Jean Giono! The writer was particularly fond of the region’s wines and would sometimes put pen to paper to express his delight in tasting them.

While both white and red wines are produced within the Pierrevert AOP and the Alpes de Haute-Provence IGP, rosés remain the flagship wines of these two appellations and account for a significant portion of their production. The altitude at which the vines grow and the wide daily temperature swings they experience give these fruity rosés a lovely liveliness.

You’ll enjoy them well-chilled but not ice-cold, paired with Sisteron lamb. She personally recommends pairing them with seafood, such as a seafood platter or a fish terrine.
