For this Vineyards Moment in the Rhône Valley , Laetitia Allemand takes us to the Costières de Nîmes AOC. Nestled between the garrigue to the north and the ponds of the Petite Camargue to the south, the appellation's vineyards are located on a series of small hills and plateaus.

A vineyard under good influence

This area is often considered a link between Provence and the Camargue, as it features soils of rolled pebbles, typical of the Rhône Valley, and a Mediterranean climate. The vineyards benefit from the maritime influence of the Camargue, which provides a refreshing thermal breeze, and from the purifying effect of the mistral wind.

When it comes to respecting the environment and protecting the landscape, the winegrowers of the AOC are quite advanced. In fact, 20% of the appellation's vineyards are organic!

The diverse influences of the vineyard thus allow the winemakers to concoct a lovely variety of wines, mostly reds, although the whites and rosés are also very pleasant!
