Orchis Mascula 2024

Hautes Côtes De Beaune | Red | 2024

This prestigious cuvée celebrates the authentic character of Pinot Noir through an innovative winemaking approach. Blending parcels selected for their exceptional potential, the wine is made with whole bunches of grapes and without the addition of sulfites, a method that guarantees a pure and natural expression of the varietal. Gentle fermentation and delicate pressing preserve the intrinsic quality of the grapes, while aging in new oak barrels for several months enriches the aromatic profile.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the moment you open it, this wine envelops you with a complex nose, blending vibrant notes of crisp cherry, coriander leaf, and old rose. On the palate, it offers an initial invigorating sensation, quickly followed by a seductive depth. The marriage of well-integrated oak and fresh fruit creates perfect harmony, revealing a wine that is both elegant and luscious. Ideally, serve it at a temperature of 15 to 16°C to fully appreciate its subtlety. Pair it with Asian dishes or dishes such as cod with licorice or guinea fowl with Reinette apples. To fully develop its aromas, allow it to breathe or decant it before serving. A large, balloon glass will enhance your tasting experience.

Domaine Naudin Ferrand

Domaine Naudin Ferrand

Bourgogne | France

In Pernand-Vergelesses, Domaine Naudin-Ferrand, run by Claire Naudin, relies on precise plot-by-plot work with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Cultivation choices are made with care, aiming to preserve soil balance and ensure optimal ripeness.

The winemaking process prioritizes aromatic clarity and structural finesse. The wines gain depth without losing their transparency, thanks to measured extractions and meticulous attention to maintaining the natural balance of the juice. Aging is conducted with restraint, imparting structure and stability rather than volume or power.

The wines generally display a delicate structure, supported by precise and restrained fruit, revealing a subtle expression of the terroir. The estate thus offers a sensitive and rigorous interpretation of Burgundy, based on precision and clarity rather than showmanship.
