Vin de France | Red | 2023

Clos Rouge des Terrasses du Larzac embodies a philosophy of environmentally conscious viticulture. Using no chemical inputs, the estate employs natural methods such as liquid manure and decoctions. Hand-harvesting and gravity-fed vatting preserve the quality of the 100% Cinsault grapes, a variety cultivated on red schist and pelite soils. Subtle vinification with measured punch-downs promotes a harmonious extraction of aromas.

Our opinion on the vintage

Upon tasting this wine, one is immediately captivated by its translucent garnet color. The nose, rich and complex, blends candied red fruits, sweet spices, and invigorating balsamic notes. On the palate, the wine is round and full-bodied, with a caressing texture that envelops the palate. Flavors of candied cherry and orange peel, enhanced by spices, provide lasting pleasure. A finish that dazzles with its persistence, confirming the exceptional character of Cinsault from old vines grown on the unique terroirs of Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière.

This diversity of grape varieties provides a nuanced interpretation of the terroir, balancing the freshness of high altitude, Mediterranean ripeness, and a progressive structure.

Since 2018, the vineyard has been managed organically, with particular attention paid to respecting the soil and integrating the vines into their natural landscape. The management of the plots prioritizes controlled yields and optimal ripeness, in order to preserve the tension ... Lire plus
