Vieilles Vignes VV 2022

Marcillac | Red | 2022

The vines, over 50 years old, planted on steep slopes with limestone and red clay soils, give this wine a unique expression of its terroir. Made from the Fer Servadou grape variety, it benefits from meticulous vinification with a 35-day maceration in stainless steel tanks. Aging in old oak casks refines the tannic structure, resulting in a wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared to develop further complexity.

Our opinion on the vintage

Visually, this wine displays a beautiful red color with violet highlights. Its nose reveals an enchanting blend of blackcurrant and mint with a touch of spice. On the palate, the fleshy texture is carried by flavors of dark fruit, enveloped in a framework where the smooth tannins allow the character of the terroir to fully express itself. This wine lends itself to refined gastronomic pairings, particularly with red meats and game. Delicate and rich, it offers a sensory experience worthy of the finest occasions.

Domaine du Cros

Domaine du Cros

Bordeaux | France

Perched on a promontory overlooking the Garonne Valley, Château du Cros enjoys a rare location at the crossroads of the great sweet wine terroirs of the right bank. The Boyer family, owners since the beginning of the 20th century, patiently rebuilt and replanted the vineyard, opting for a diversity of expressions: sweet wines, dry whites, and reds.

The estate benefits from clay-limestone soils well-suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, which here produces elegant, precise reds focused on fruit and freshness rather than power. A carefully cultivated, century-old, one-hectare plot adds extra depth to certain cuvées, without ever weighing down the style.

For sweet wines, the altitude and exposure promote slow ripening and measured balance. These wines prioritize finesse and clarity over showiness, with well-integrated sugars and clean finishes. Through its various estates, the Boyer family offers a coherent and classic interpretation of the Loupiac, Graves, and Cadillac appellations, rooted in
