Le vilain petit canard

Vin de France | White | NM

The wines of the Laplace family are meticulously crafted from harvest to bottling. This wine is made from 90% Gros Manseng grapes (and 10% Petit Manseng), grown on clay soil with large pebbles, and benefits from careful vinification with low-temperature fermentation. The style is both round and vibrant, with a fine acidity that provides a beautiful structure and a pleasantly persistent finish.

Our opinion on the vintage

Bright, pale gold in color. The nose is open and inviting, with aromas of exotic fruits like pineapple and mango, a touch of passion fruit, and a subtle smoky note. On the palate, the wine strikes a beautiful balance between roundness and freshness, supported by well-integrated acidity. The exotic fruits reappear, with a hint of candied orange on the finish, which lingers elegantly.

Tannat rarely expresses itself with such mastery as in the Laplace family's Madiran. Extraction is controlled, the wine dense but never overwhelming. The more approachable cuvées offer a tender expression of the grape. The most ambitious display remarkable length. In short: structure and clarity.
