Terrasses Du Larzac | Red | 2021

Mas Lasta is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault grapes from old vines located at an altitude of 400 meters. The grapes are harvested by hand to guarantee the highest quality. Each grape variety is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for optimal aroma extraction. After careful maceration, the wine is aged for 10 to 11 months, primarily in tanks and partly in barrels for added complexity.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, Mas Lasta reveals a symphony of delicate and expressive aromas, where notes of ripe red fruit mingle with a subtle touch of spice. On the palate, its elegance translates into a refined and silky texture, orchestrated by the harmony of the grape varieties. The structure is both intense and balanced, carried by the freshness of the sandstone and schist terroirs. Its finish is long and persistent, leaving an enchanting and sophisticated memory that invites you to explore each sip with delight.

Mas Lasta

Languedoc | France

Mas Lasta is a Languedoc-Roussillon wine estate located near Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière, created and run by Anne-Laure Sicard, an agricultural engineer turned winemaker. The name "Lasta" means "last" in Esperanto, as the estate's plots represent the last vineyard land before the Terrasses du Larzac plateau.

The vineyard extends across small, terraced plots at high altitude (400–500 m), planted with old Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Carignan vines, cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods, sometimes with the help of animal traction. This meticulous vineyard management aims to revive artisanal and environmentally friendly viticulture.

The wines of Mas Lasta, especially the reds from Terrasses du Larzac, are distinguished by their freshness, balanced structure and aromatic expression of the high-altitude terroir, offering complex and harmonious profiles while embodying the purity and spontaneity of the estate's natural practices.
