Clos Troteligotte

K-Nom 2024

Cahors | Red | 2024

From the high plateaus of Cahors, this wine emphasizes honesty and balance. The dominant Malbec provides structure and depth, while the Merlot rounds it out and makes it immediately approachable. Vinified without artifice, with gentle extraction and aging in concrete tanks, it prioritizes fruit, freshness, and the expression of the terroir. A sincere, delicious red, designed above all for enjoyment.

Our opinion on the vintage

The nose opens with ripe black fruits, blackcurrant and blackberry, with a slightly spicy touch and an earthy nuance typical of iron-rich soils. On the palate, the attack is supple, the fruit very present, supported by a fluid texture and fine tannins. The whole remains easy to drink, balanced, with a fresh and clean finish, without heaviness.

Located on the Causse de Cahors plateau, Clos Troteligotte covers approximately 19 hectares of vines planted at an altitude of nearly 350 meters, in the heart of a wooded environment. The vineyard rests on two main types of clay-limestone terroirs identified within the limestone plateau: Kimmeridgian soils and iron-rich siderolithic soils. This geological diversity strongly shapes the wines' profiles and justifies a micro-parcel approach. The vines were planted starting in 1987, and the estate is now managed by Emmanuel Rybinski, who has continued and expanded upon the work begun by the previous generation.

The Malbec grape variety occupies a central place, complemented by Merlot, Tannat, and rarer varieties historically present in the Quercy region, such as Chenin Blanc and Jurançon Noir. In the vineyard, the estate implements ... Lire plus
