Vouvray | Orange | 2024

This wine, made entirely from Chenin Blanc grapes, is cultivated biodynamically on a 1-hectare plot at an altitude of 350 meters. The Kimmeridgian limestone soil imparts a unique character to the wine. The meticulous winemaking process includes extended maceration in amphorae, followed by 12 months of aging without fining or filtration, preserving the wine's authenticity. The absence of added sulfites underscores the purity of the wine and the estate's commitment to respectful winemaking practices.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, this Chenin Blanc immediately captivates with its complex aromas reminiscent of white-fleshed fruit and wildflowers. On the palate, the attack is crisp and reveals a silky texture, the result of long maceration and aging in amphorae. This wine offers a pronounced minerality from the Kimmeridgian soil, while its invigorating freshness and length on the palate impress with their persistence. A wine of character that expresses the very essence of its terroir.

Mas del Périé - Fabien Jouves

Mas del Périé

Languedoc | France

In Cahors, Fabien Jouves manages Mas del Périé with a precise, plot-by-plot approach to Malbec. The different cuvées are based on the geology of the plateau and hillsides, contrasting limestone soils, which bring verticality and tension, with deeper clays, sources of flesh and density.

Biodynamics structures all the work, from soil management to winemaking. Aging uses a variety of containers—amphorae, foudres, and barrels—employed as tools for adjustment, in order to refine the profiles without masking the expression of the grape or the terroir.

The wines maintain a clear definition, with precise black fruit and structures that are never heavy. The finishes remain legible and balanced, reflecting an approach where each cuvée offers a distinct and coherent interpretation of the different facets of the Cahors plateau.
