Mas del Périé

Soif d'ailleurs 2024

Cahors | Red | 2024

This wine is handcrafted using a natural method with whole-cluster fermentation, followed by a short maceration of seven days. Aging takes place in both concrete tanks and barrels for six months, preserving remarkable purity and freshness. The 35-year-old vines, cultivated in soils that blend sand and limestone, contribute a beautiful complexity to the blend of Cinsault, Muscat of Hamburg, and Malbec grapes. The AB organic certification guarantees environmentally responsible farming practices.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first whiff, this wine reveals a seductive aromatic bouquet with hints of fresh red fruit. On the palate, a silky texture unfolds, delicately enveloping the palate and offering a sensation of finesse and balance. Cinsault and Malbec combine to deliver floral and spicy notes, while Muscat of Hamburg adds a fruity touch, lending the wine a vibrant and lively character. The finish is elegant, punctuated by a hint of minerality typical of its soils. This wine is a rich sensory experience, perfect for those who appreciate simple yet refined pleasures.

Mas del Périé - Fabien Jouves

Mas del Périé

Languedoc | France

In Cahors, Fabien Jouves manages Mas del Périé with a precise, plot-by-plot approach to Malbec. The different cuvées are based on the geology of the plateau and hillsides, contrasting limestone soils, which bring verticality and tension, with deeper clays, sources of flesh and density.

Biodynamics structures all the work, from soil management to winemaking. Aging uses a variety of containers—amphorae, foudres, and barrels—employed as tools for adjustment, in order to refine the profiles without masking the expression of the grape or the terroir.

The wines maintain a clear definition, with precise black fruit and structures that are never heavy. The finishes remain legible and balanced, reflecting an approach where each cuvée offers a distinct and coherent interpretation of the different facets of the Cahors plateau.
