Chat Gris

Vin de France | Orange | NM

This Grenache Gris is vinified with care, undergoing maceration in tanks before natural fermentation in barrels, followed by extended aging in untopped oak. The schist terroir enriches the wine with a unique mineral complexity. Its amber-orange color intrigues and invites a memorable tasting experience. The wine's structure, both dense and velvety, reveals a surprising texture, combining sweetness and power, supported by a harmony of acidity, bitterness, and astringency.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, this Grenache Gris offers a seductive array of aromas reminiscent of flambéed banana, dried orange peel, and a souk overflowing with nut liqueur and oriental spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with an almost tangible density, yet surprisingly light. The flavors evolve with notes of rancio, along with hints of caramel, coffee, and toasted nuts. The finish is persistent, enhanced by a beautiful spicy complexity and an energetic texture that captivates the senses, making for an unforgettable tasting experience.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
