Saint-Amour | Red | 2022

Arnaud Combier offers a 100% Gamay wine from the granitic terroir of the La Folie vineyard. Cultivated using the goblet method and undergoing organic conversion, the vines receive meticulous care. The hand-harvested grapes are followed by vinification in concrete tanks and semi-carbonic maceration, guaranteeing a unique character. Aging in tanks preserves the freshness of the fruit, resulting in a wine with remarkable aromas and texture.

Our opinion on the vintage

This wine presents a deep, translucent purple robe, captivating at first glance. On the nose, it seduces with its luscious aromas of cherry and blackberry, enriched by spicy nuances. On the palate, its fullness and roundness offer a velvety and fleshy texture, underscored by juicy black fruit flavors. The finish is as seductive as it is indulgent, unfolding freshness and fruitiness with hints of cocoa, all enhanced by chalky and spicy accents, for a most deliciously lingering aftertaste.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
