Fitou La Tire 2023

Fitou | Red | 2023

This wine is a harmonious blend of Carignan and Syrah, from vines over 50 and 30 years old respectively. Grown on schist soils, the grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring meticulous selection. The combination of the two grape varieties before fermentation results in a cuvée that is both supple and structured, fermented and then aged in tanks to preserve all its freshness and character. A revelation for lovers of fine wines.

Our opinion on the vintage

The nose of this wine immediately overwhelms you with aromas of black fruit cream, subtly enhanced with licorice and juniper, and a refreshing touch of menthol and eucalyptus. On the palate, it reveals remarkable roundness and breadth, with a velvety texture and an aromatic richness that oscillates between candied and balsamic notes. The finish is distinguished by its firmness and length, with a chalky chewiness that gently melts into sapid and balsamic nuances, offering a truly unforgettable sensory symphony.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
