Our Review of the Cuvée

This Languedoc red wine distinguishes itself with its finesse and lightness, a contrast to the region's typically more robust style. Its intense red fruit aromas lend a very pleasant freshness on the palate. The wine's structure is well-balanced, featuring fine and elegant tannins that envelop the mouthfeel. Ideal for accompanying simple, convivial dishes, this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years. Best served at a temperature between 16 and 18°C, it pairs perfectly with bruschettas, chicken blanquette, grilled leg of lamb, or pork sauté in tomato sauce.

Located within the Cabardès appellation area, approximately ten kilometers west of Carcassonne, Maison Ventenac is a family estate nestled against the foothills of the Montagne Noire. The vineyard spans approximately 135 hectares and is currently undergoing organic conversion, with particular attention paid to soil management and environmental stewardship.

Winemaking practices seek to minimize artificial interventions, by favoring precise aging methods tailored to the specific profiles of each cuvée. Depending on the wine, vessels range from tanks, large-capacity foudres, and amphorae, to refine textures without obscuring the fruit's inherent expression.
