Terrasses Du Larzac | Rouge | 2021

Mas Lasta is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault, made from old vines growing at an altitude of 400 meters. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality. Each grape variety is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to optimize aroma extraction. After careful fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 to 11 months, primarily in tanks and partly in barrels to enhance its complexity.

Our Review of the Cuvée

On the nose, Mas Lasta reveals a symphony of delicate and expressive aromas, blending notes of ripe red fruit with a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, its elegance is expressed through a refined, silky texture, orchestrated by the harmony of the grape varieties. The structure is both intense and balanced, carried by the freshness of the sandstone and schist terroirs. Its finish is long and lingering, leaving an enchanting and sophisticated impression that invites you to savor every sip with delight.

Mas Lasta

Languedoc | France

Mas Lasta is a Languedoc-Roussillon wine estate located near Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière, established and managed by Anne-Laure Sicard, an agricultural engineer turned winemaker. The name 'Lasta' means 'last' in Esperanto, as the estate's parcels represent the final viticultural lands before the Terrasses du Larzac plateau.

The vineyard spans small terraced parcels at high altitudes (400–500 m), planted with old Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Carignan vines, cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods, occasionally assisted by animal traction. This meticulous vineyard management aims to revive artisanal viticulture that respects nature.

The wines of Mas Lasta, particularly the reds from the Terrasses du Larzac, are distinguished by their freshness, balanced structure, and aromatic expression of the high-altitude terroir, offering complex and harmonious profiles while embodying the purity and spontaneity of natural winemaking practices.
