Maury Viatge 2023

Maury | Red | 2023

The gentle vinification of this 100% Grenache Noir wine takes into account the unique character of its south-facing terroir of black schist. Hand-harvesting allows for meticulous selection of the berries, and fermentation is kept under optimal control. A five-week maceration process and ten months of aging in tanks complete a whole where precision and care transform the grapes into a refined experience to be savored.

Our opinion on the vintage

The nose opens with a rich and generous aromatic palette from the Grenache Noir grape. On the palate, a velvety texture unfolds, expertly structured by a long and careful maceration. Controlled extraction and regular lees stirring impart a vibrant complexity, while aging in tanks sharpens this harmony, culminating in a silky and persistent finish. This wine expresses with finesse the nuances of its schist soil, offering a remarkable tasting experience.

Domaine Semper

Roussillon | France

At the foot of the Agly's schist hills, Domaine Semper crafts wines where Carignan and Grenache find fertile ground for expression. The Roussillon heat translates into dark, ripe fruit, while the freshness of the higher-altitude soils provides a welcome counterpoint. Gentle winemaking prioritizes precision over power, resulting in wines with fine tannins and a fleshy texture. Limited oak aging preserves a clean aromatic profile and just the right amount of body. The style remains straightforward and direct, with a restrained depth that characterizes this corner of the south, where old vines continue to play a vital role.
