Château d'Or et de Gueules is located in the southern Rhône where Diane de Puymorin and her family grow about ten grape varieties: grenache, viognier, rolle, roussanne and chardonnay for white, syrah, grenache, cinsault, carignan and mourvèdre for red. The latter are expressed on a wide variety of soils and are vinified plot by plot with a low yield of 35 hectoliters per hectare, which is half of what the appellation requires!
Château d'Or et de Gueules is a family property of about fifteen hectares operated by Diane de Puymorin, Mathieu Chatain and their daughters. The name of the estate comes from the Puymorin family coat of arms and dates from the 12th century. "Gold" represents the typicality of the terroir of the Southern Rhône in terms of breadth and richness, and "Gueules" means red in heraldry and reflects the powerful and elegant character of our wines.
As a family estate, we work according to the methods learned from our ancestors. We are very attached to our profession, which is why we have made it a point of honour that our passion reflects our convictions. Thus, women play a crucial role in the field and we work with the greatest respect for the environment.
