Château de Lavernette

Beaujolais | France

Château de Lavernette is a historic estate located at the crossroads of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, spanning the municipalities of Chaintré and Leynes. An ancient seigneury founded in 1596, the estate previously belonged to the monks of Tournus Abbey, where viticulture already held a central role. Today, the property is owned by the de Boissieu family, direct descendants of the Lavernette family. Xavier de Boissieu represents the thirteenth generation to produce wine on these lands. Since 2005, he has worked alongside his wife Kerrie, an American oenologist, combining their experiences and sensibilities. The vineyard has been managed using organic and biodynamic farming practices since then, respecting the environment to produce wines deeply marked by their terroirs.
