Château Barouillet
In Bergerac, Château Barouillet is now run by a new generation, with an approach focused on the clarity of the grapes and the simplicity of the balance. The estate works with the traditional grape varieties of the region, notably Merlot, Malbec, and Sémillon, seeking to preserve their most direct expression.
The vineyard is managed using respectful practices, with minimal intervention in winemaking. Extractions are carefully controlled and aging intentionally light, allowing the fruit to take center stage. Some cuvées may exhibit a slight texture, embraced as a stylistic element, without ever weighing down the overall profile.
The wines are distinguished by their straightforwardness and approachability, while maintaining true aromatic precision. The entire body of work at Château Barouillet offers a sincere and contemporary interpretation of Bergerac, based on clarity, freshness, and an unpretentious approach.
