Coteaux du Giennois
The Coteaux-du-Giennois appellation is located in the Centre-Loire sub-region. The white wines are made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape, while the reds and rosés are composed of Gamay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard covers 200 hectares and rests on two distinct soil types. In the north, the soils are composed of clay, silica, and limestone. In the south, the soils are white with siliceous deposits. 8,100 hectoliters are produced annually. The wines have very nuanced flavors depending on the soil and climate. Generally, the whites have a pale gold color, with aromas of fern, acacia, peach, and apricot. The whites are often dry and light. The reds have violet hues, with aromas of red fruit and a lovely roundness on the palate. The rosés, for their part, are slightly peppery, lively, and elegant.
