Perreau Estate
Perreau Estate
Located in Saint-Michel-de-Montaigne, on the hillsides overlooking the Dordogne valley, the Domaine de Perreau is now run by Gaëlle Reynou-Gravier, who took over the family estate in 2013. She embodies a new generation at the head of a property passed down through several generations.
The vineyard covers approximately 20 hectares, spread across well-exposed slopes, ideal for the gradual ripening of the grapes. The estate is committed to sustainable viticulture, holding Terra Vitis certification, which aims to reconcile respect for the soil and vines with consistent quality. Cultivation practices seek to preserve the vineyard's balance while highlighting local characteristics.
Domaine de Perreau produces several appellations in Southwest France, including Bergerac, Côtes de Montravel, and Montravel, as well as a Périgord IGP wine. The wines are crafted with the aim of faithfully expressing the terroirs of this transitional zone between Bordeaux and Périgord, emphasizing aromatic precision and structural balance.
Since 2018, the estate has also developed a wine tourism activity focused on raising awareness of biodiversity, with an educational trail through the heart of the vineyards. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to local integration and to communicating contemporary viticultural issues.
The entire body of work of Domaine de Perreau offers a coherent and current interpretation of the terroirs of Montravel and Bergerac, based on sustainable viticulture, a rigorous approach to winemaking and a controlled enhancement of its environment.
