Our opinion on the vintage

From the first glance, its straw-yellow hue with golden highlights is captivating. On the nose, a vibrant freshness blends harmoniously with a distinct minerality, enriched by citrus aromas and a floral depth. On the palate, this wine surprises with its roundness and velvety texture, revealing a symphony of citrus peel notes. Subtle tannins caress the palate on the finish, offering a balanced and captivating sensory experience. Perfect with salmon sushi or scallop tartare, it is a gourmet choice par excellence.

Domaine Des Roches Neuves

Loire | France

In Saumur-Champigny, the Domaine des Roches Neuves has been run by Thierry Germain since 1992. The estate extends over limestone and clay-limestone terroirs, particularly suited to cabernet franc, as well as chenin for white wines.

Starting in 2002, the estate embraced biodynamic farming, with in-depth work on the soils, vine vitality, and yield control. This approach aims to produce balanced grapes, capable of accurately expressing their origin without artifice in the cellar. Vinification prioritizes measured extractions and a focus on the body of the wine to preserve the fruit and the natural energy of the juice.

The winemaking process is conceived as a complementary tool, chosen to respect the wine's structure and its capacity for expression, without seeking to influence the style. The wines are distinguished by their purity of fruit, their precision, and a sense of controlled tension, while retaining genuine depth.
