Joseph CATTIN
Joseph CATTIN
Located in Alsace, Maison Joseph Cattin is a family estate whose winemaking history dates back to 1720. For more than three centuries, each generation has contributed to the development of the estate, relying on a deep knowledge of Alsatian terroirs and a continuous transmission of know-how.
The vineyard was gradually established and structured around the main regional grape varieties. From the beginning of the 20th century, Joseph Cattin, a prominent figure in the family, distinguished himself through his attentive approach to the relationship between the vine and its environment, recognized at the time by the awarding of a "model vineyard" diploma. This focus on the terroir remains a guiding principle in the estate's work today.
Currently managed by Anaïs and Jacques Cattin, the winery develops a range of wines encompassing different expressions of Alsace, including wines produced using organic practices, selections from specific terroirs, and certain cuvées intended for extended aging. Winemaking aims to preserve aromatic purity and the expression of the soils, with aging techniques tailored to the desired profiles.
Alongside its winemaking activities, the company has developed a wine tourism tool with the opening of the Belvédère Cattin, a contemporary cellar integrated into the vineyard, designed to welcome the public and showcase the wines in their landscape context.
The entire body of work of Maison Joseph Cattin offers a structured and continuous reading of the Alsatian terroirs, based on time, the adaptation of practices and the search for a faithful expression of the grape varieties and soils.
