Our take on this vintage

On the first sniff, this naturally sparkling wine reveals vibrant aromas of white fruit, perfectly balanced by a delicate freshness. On the palate, its fine bubbles burst with liveliness, giving way to harmonious flavors of apple, pear, and a hint of citrus. Its crisp texture and clean, refreshing finish make it an ideal companion for moments of sharing. The pleasure lies in its sincere simplicity and its ability to awaken the senses with its purity and lightness.

In Bergerac, Château Barouillet is now run by a new generation, with an approach focused on highlighting the character of the grapes and achieving a simple, balanced style. The estate cultivates the region’s traditional grape varieties, notably Merlot, Malbec, and Sémillon, striving to preserve their most direct expression.

The vineyard is managed using sustainable practices, with minimal intervention during winemaking. Extraction is kept to a minimum and aging is deliberately light, allowing the fruit to take center stage. Some vintages may have a slightly fuller texture, which is embraced as a defining characteristic of the style, without ever weighing down the wine’s profile.

The wines stand out for their straightforwardness and approachability, while retaining a true aromatic precision. The work of Château Barouillet as a whole offers a sincere and contemporary interpretation of Bergerac, based on clarity, freshness, and an unpretentious approach.
