Vin de France | White | 2023

Domaine Cosse et Maisonneuve presents "Cheval en Tête," a unique cuvée crafted from grapes grown on plots planted with 70% Ugni Blanc, complemented by Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is made from young vines cultivated in the marl-limestone and Kimmeridgian soils of the Quercy region. Meticulous winemaking, including slow pressing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, preserves a natural and harmonious expression. Aging on fine lees adds richness and depth to the wine.

Our opinion on the vintage

The nose of "Cheval en Tête" opens with captivating aromas of grapefruit, enhanced by a honeyed and subtly smoky note. On the palate, the wine reveals a full and fresh texture, true to the aromas detected on the nose. The tasting continues with a long, balanced finish, with elegant bitterness that adds structure. This wine offers a beautiful aromatic freshness, supported by a natural balance derived from perfectly ripe grapes, a characteristic signature of this estate, which respects its terroir.

Cosse et Maisonneuve

Bordeaux | France

Cahors, yes, but in a more elongated, vertical style, where the Malbec never seeks to be heavy. Catherine Maisonneuve and Mathieu Cosse have breathed new life into the wines: less extraction, more rhythm, and controlled aging. The wines possess the tight structure and precision that characterize great modern Cahors. In short: remarkable purity.
