Fleur de Crussol 2023

Saint-Péray | White | 2023

This cuvée was created in 1999 by Alain Voge with the friendly assistance of the late Daniel Denis, a Lyon sommelier and great ambassador of Rhône Valley wines. The Crussol massif, which gives its name to the cuvée, is very important for the Saint-Péray AOC as it provides the limestone elements essential for the production of great white wines.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, this wine reveals delicate notes of white flowers and ripe citrus. The palate offers a silky, ample texture, underpinned by a subtle minerality reminiscent of its limestone terroir. The presence of white-fleshed fruit blends harmoniously with a touch of spice, imparted by oak aging. The finish is long, marked by a slight salinity that hints at its gastronomic potential. An ideal pairing with refined dishes such as prawns and vegetables with a turmeric emulsion.

In Cornas, Alain Voge has crafted a vision of Syrah that combines firmness and precision. The old vines yield a dense juice, sometimes dark, but held together by remarkable tension. The white wines of Saint-Péray display a calm breadth. A concise statement: controlled depth.
