Ancestral Brut 2023

Vin de France | Blanc | 2023

The traditional method chosen by Céline and Benoit BLET uses fully ripe Chenin grapes, resulting in a less austere aromatic profile than that of a traditional method. This choice allows for the creation of a naturally sparkling wine with rich, balanced flavors. The wine’s clarity and fine bubbles form a harmonious whole, adding an accessible and refined dimension that rivals sparkling wines from higher price points. A perfect choice for lovers of wines with character.

Our Review of the Cuvée

The color is pale gold with fine bubbles. The nose is rich and complex, with notes of roasted white fruit and subtle hints of pastries. The palate is full-bodied, fresh, and sparkling with purity, featuring creamy, invigorating micro-bubbles that come together to form a refined whole that could rival significantly more expensive sparkling wines. The finish is clean and crisp, gaining even more freshness and purity. It’s very, very good!

Aging, sometimes in barrels, enhances the wines without ever masking their origin, adding depth and a beautiful texture.

Céline and Benoit Blet also produce Pinot Noir, with the same focus on balance. The wines are refined and elegant, never marked by ... Read more
