Established in 1926 in the hamlet of Chaudoux, within the commune of Verdigny, Domaine Fournier Père & Fils stands as one of the historic estates of the Sancerre appellation. The vineyard currently extends over approximately 39 hectares, distributed among 165 plots scattered across the various hills and slopes of the appellation area.

This fragmentation of plots enables the estate to work with the three major Sancerre terroir types — limestone, marl, and flint — providing a diversity of soils, exposures, and microclimates. This balanced distribution is a crucial factor for ensuring the consistency and complexity of the wines, vintage after vintage.

Vineyard management follows an environmentally conscious approach, with practices certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Vignerons Engagés. The cultivation of soils and vines aims to preserve the plant's natural balance and the distinct expression of the terroirs, without resorting to excessive technical enhancements.
