Domaine Fournier Père & Fils

Domaine Fournier Père & Fils

Loire | France

Established in 1926 in the hamlet of Chaudoux, in the commune of Verdigny, Domaine Fournier Père & Fils is one of the historic estates of the Sancerre appellation. The vineyard now covers approximately 39 hectares, divided into 165 plots scattered across the hills and slopes of the appellation area.

This fragmented land parcels allow the estate to work with the three main types of Sancerre terroir—limestone, marl, and flint—offering a diversity of soils, exposures, and microclimates. This balanced distribution is a key factor in ensuring the consistency and complexity of the wines from one vintage to the next.

The vineyard is managed with respect for the environment, using practices certified as High Environmental Value (HVE) and by the Vignerons Engagés (Committed Winegrowers) label. Soil and vine cultivation aims to preserve the balance of the plant and the expression of the terroir, without seeking technical excess.
