Our Review of the Cuvée

The color is a translucent dark garnet. The nose is refined and deep, with notes of candied black cherry and resinous, balsamic hints that transport you straight to Tuscany. The palate is full-bodied yet airy, with a very refined, delicate texture that caresses the entire palate, but it is the freshness and purity of the fruit that impress the most. It is absolutely stunning, yet strikingly simple. The finish not only manages to preserve the magic but to elevate it even further, adding an extra layer of freshness and depth, with notes of cherry, cocoa, juniper berries, and cubeb pepper.

A forgotten grape variety can transform a landscape: this is what Thomas Finot has demonstrated by reviving Verdesse and Etraire de la Dhuy in the foothills of the Isère. His wines possess a precision, almost crystalline in quality, without ever becoming austere. The freshness comes naturally, as if flowing from the nearby mountain. The reds unfold gently, while the whites oscillate between tension and quiet maturity. A patient revival effort with far-reaching impact.
