Our opinion on the vintage

The wine is a translucent, deep ruby. The nose is discreet, with aromas of plum pit and resinous-balsamic notes that transport you to Italy. The palate is taut, stretched by a fine acidity, offering a velvety/pulpy texture, superbly dark fruit, and that ever-present balsamic quality. The finish prolongs the tension on the palate, accompanied by a delicate, flavorful chewiness of red cherry/plum and their respective pits, and that piercing acidity that continues on its way with spicy/resinous/balsamic notes. A real gem!

A forgotten grape variety can transform a landscape: this is what Thomas Finot has proven by reviving Verdesse and Etraire de la Dhuy in the foothills of the Isère mountains. His wines possess a precision, almost crystalline quality, without ever becoming austere. Freshness comes naturally, as if flowing from the nearby mountain. The reds unfold gracefully, the whites oscillate between tension and quiet maturity. A patient revival that has yielded remarkable results.
