Our opinion on the vintage

The wine is a hazy pale yellow. The nose is fresh, with aromas of warm apple, lemon zest, and damp chalk. The palate is round, ample, and enveloping, with a pulpy, almost velvety texture, enlivened and refreshed by thousands of bubbles that are both crackling and creamy. The finish is intense and explosive, rated triple A++, with a pronounced bitterness of citrus peel and quinine, and a tangy astringency of lemon pulp that lingers for a long time.

A forgotten grape variety can transform a landscape: this is what Thomas Finot has proven by reviving Verdesse and Etraire de la Dhuy in the foothills of the Isère mountains. His wines possess a precision, almost crystalline quality, without ever becoming austere. Freshness comes naturally, as if flowing from the nearby mountain. The reds unfold gracefully, the whites oscillate between tension and quiet maturity. A patient revival that has yielded remarkable results.
