Combier Arnaud
Located between southern Burgundy and northern Beaujolais, Arnaud Combier is a winemaker with a rich background, marked by a demanding approach deeply rooted in natural wine.
Trained in Beaune, he cut his teeth at several renowned estates in the Mâconnais and Chablis regions before taking over the family vineyards in the late 1990s. For more than a decade, he crafted precise, textured wines there, before moving on to various other projects, always guided by the same principle: to produce wines that are as vibrant as possible.
Today, Arnaud Combier works primarily in the Beaujolais region, around villages such as Pierreclos and Lancié, and is also involved in the Domaine des Moriers. The vineyard spans several iconic appellations (Fleurie, Chiroubles, Morgon), on granite or clay-limestone soils that lend finesse and vibrancy to the wines.
In the vineyard, the grapes are cultivated using organic farming methods, with practices inspired by biodynamics: soil cultivation, high planting density, no herbicides, and respect for the plant’s natural rhythm.
In the cellar, winemaking involves minimal intervention:
fermentation with native yeasts, whole-cluster maceration in the Beaujolais tradition, and minimal use of sulfur. The goal is to allow each terroir to express itself fully, without technical manipulation.
Arnaud Combier’s wines, made primarily from Gamay but also from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, stand out for their honesty and drinkability: they are fresh, fruity, and often rich, yet always characterized by true precision and a clear expression of the terroir.
