Vin de France | Red | 2023

This wine is made from old Gamay vines from the Auvergne region, grown on the basalt soils of Corent. Produced biodynamically using animal traction, it benefits from meticulous winemaking, including whole-cluster maceration and a year of aging in sandstone amphorae. The absence of added sulfites enhances the purity and integrity of the aromas. This wine offers an authentic experience where terroir and winemaking expertise come together in perfect harmony.

Our opinion on the vintage

The translucent garnet robe instantly catches the eye. On the nose, it's a festival of vibrant and engaging aromas: notes of Morello cherry and raspberry mingle delicately with sweet spices. On the palate, one is struck by its volume and suppleness. The texture is ethereal, almost like a caress, with a fine acidity that structures everything. The fruit flavors are radiant, dominated by Morello cherry, while subtle touches of cocoa and spice enliven the long and elegant finish. A wine to be savored fully, all finesse and expressiveness.

Patrick Bouju - La Bohême

Languedoc | France

In the Puy-de-Dôme region, Patrick Bouju produces wines under the name La Bohême, using natural practices and relying on Gamay, Pinot Noir, and old grape varieties that are being gradually brought back into cultivation. The vines, often quite old, are planted in volcanic soils characteristic of the area, which impart a subtle energy and a unique character to the wines.

The winemaking process is carried out with minimal intervention, allowing fermentation to proceed freely in order to preserve the spontaneous expression of the grapes. The wines display vibrant and direct fruit, combined with supple structure and free-flowing textures, without any attempt at correction or standardization.

All the wines are distinguished by a strong and immediately recognizable identity, underpinned by great stylistic consistency. Patrick Bouju's work is now considered among the benchmarks of the natural wine movement, offering a vibrant and instinctive interpretation of the volcanic terroirs of Auvergne.
