Laballe Estate
Laballe Estate
Located in Bas-Armagnac, near Eauze, Domaine de Laballe is a family estate whose winemaking history dates back to 1820. The estate is situated on the Sables Fauves, a terroir characteristic of Bas-Armagnac, recognized for its ability to produce fine and fresh eaux-de-vie, but also wines with a balanced profile.
Historically focused on Armagnac, the estate controls the entire production chain, from vine to bottle. This technical expertise forms an important foundation for the development of its wines, a process begun in the 1980s. The plots dedicated to winemaking are located in the Landes and Gascon terroirs, benefiting from sandy and well-drained soils, conducive to freshness and aromatic precision.
Today managed by Cyril and Julie Laudet, the estate is committed to sustainable viticulture, with a transition to organic farming and the implementation of agroforestry practices. These choices aim to preserve soil balance and vineyard resilience in a demanding climatic context.
The wines produced—white, rosé, and red—are distinguished by their clear and distinct profiles, where freshness is a common thread. Depending on the vintage, the expressions vary between fruitiness, roundness, and structure, while maintaining a shared identity marked by balance and drinkability. Domaine de Laballe thus offers a coherent and masterful interpretation of these Southwest terroirs, at the crossroads of wine and Armagnac cultures.
