This estate wine is a blend of Syrah (80%) and Grenache Noir (20%), grown on a "gress" terroir—siliceous pebbles deposited by the Rhône River that promote ideal grape ripeness while preserving natural freshness. Biodynamic practices enhance the health of the vines, and careful winemaking—with the grape varieties vinified separately—ensures an authentic expression of the appellation. On the palate, it is generous with fruity and floral aromas, yet remains elegant and easy to drink.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Right from the nose, this wine reveals a complex array of ripe red fruits, delicate spices, and a subtle smoky note. On the palate, the balance is impressive: rich notes of cherries and plums blend harmoniously with a spicy and floral framework. The texture is supple, the tannins are silky, and the fresh, lively finish invites further exploration. This wine pairs perfectly with saucy or slightly spicy dishes, adding extra depth to meats and chocolate.

Terre des Chardons

Languedoc | France

The Terre des Chardons estate was born from the Chardon family's deep attachment to a unique land, located in the commune of Bellegarde, shaped by the sun, wind, and stone. Established since 1983, the family initially developed market gardening and arboriculture activities there.

In 1999, Jérôme Chardon joined his parents and initiated a new direction by planting 9 hectares of vines. Convinced by a respectful approach to living organisms, he chose from the outset to cultivate the vineyard according to biodynamic principles, which were still uncommon at the time. The vineyard work is precise, attentive to natural rhythms, and guided by the lunar calendar.
