White Morillon

Vin de France | White | 2024

Morillon Blanc is the traditional name for Chardonnay in the region. Produced from grapes affected by noble rot, this cuvée (magnum) offers a rich, almost unctuous texture, balanced by a fresh acidity. Toasty and buttery notes punctuate the profile, with a lovely length. A full-bodied and elegant white wine, revealing the finesse of the local style.

Our opinion on the vintage

The deep golden color heralds an expressive wine. On the nose, ripe aromas of pear, peach, and grilled pineapple mingle with hints of toast, melted butter, and vanilla. On the palate, the texture is ample, dense, and almost creamy, with a nearly oily depth. The acidity remains well-defined, bringing tension and freshness to the whole. The finish is long and subtly astringent, carried by ripe fruit, sweet spices, and a touch of toasted vanilla. A powerful yet invigorating white wine, ideal with semi-cooked foie gras, poultry with mushrooms, aged cheeses, or warm apple tart.

Languedoc | France

Jeff Carrel's work in the Languedoc region focuses on vineyards that are sometimes neglected or challenging, revitalized through a pragmatic approach to winemaking. Carignan, Grenache, and Syrah are cultivated according to the specific plots, resulting in wines that are sometimes juicy, sometimes more structured.

The winemaking process remains intentionally simple, in order to preserve the rhythm and character of the wines. Some cuvées prioritize immediate enjoyment, while others emphasize a more assertive structure. The entire range is distinguished by a direct, accessible style, clearly expressing the Languedoc landscape.
