Sitting on a sunny terrace on a Saturday afternoon, a small Caesar salad is the very embodiment of beautiful weather. It’s the classic among classics. It’s all about the Caesar salad dressing… But what wine goes best with a Caesar salad?
It’s as if Caesar salad were invented solely for al fresco dining. So, let’s close our eyes and imagine ourselves on a small, shaded terrace in a narrow alleyway in a village in Provence. And already we’re wondering which wine to pair with a Caesar salad to make the moment perfect!
It’s time to settle down on a shaded patio. We open the menu and browse the dishes… And there it is again, year after year, never going out of style: the Caesar salad.
And since a little culture never hurts, the history of the Caesar salad recipe isn’t quite so simple. Of course, everyone thinks of the Emperor. But not at all. It was actually Caesar Cardini who invented the recipe and the Caesar salad dressing while living in Mexico in the 1920s.
