The Must See Domains in Saint-Emilion

Château Gaby

First step of our Saint-Emilion to Fronsac Wine Route. This charming village is known and recognized for its powerful and tannic red wines in the Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac appellations. We find Tom Sullivan, straight from Boston, recently settled in the area.

At the château, the winegrower welcomes you for a visit of the property and a tasting of his wines. In a relaxed atmosphere, you will be able to discover his daily life, the way he works in the vineyard and in the cellar. Don't miss the splendid view from the château.

Château Cantenac

After driving through Libourne on the 670 departmental road, you can't miss Château Cantenac. In this estate classified Vignobles et Découvertes, the label issued by Atout France, the Ruskam-Brunot family works the land from the heritage. In the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation, you will have the opportunity to taste the Grands Crus.

As you continue on your Saint Emilion Wine Route, head for Château Tour Pourret. This must-see in the region will be the perfect immersion in the Saint-Emilion terroir. Upon arrival at the estate, you will discover a magnificent building that looks like a fortified castle: you have arrived. It is in this bastion of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wine production that you will meet the Lannoye family.

Next to the winemaker, pastry buffs will choose the gourmet tour while the more adventurous will be tempted by the Bordeaux tour. If you decide to extend your visit in this sumptuous and quiet place, you can picnic in the vineyard: we recommend it!

Château Vieux Mougnac

After visiting the picturesque village of Saint-Emilion, you will head north to discover the winegrowers of Château Vieux-Mougnac. At the estate, we work with respect for the soil and the local biodiversity according to the principles of biodynamics.

It is the 5th generation of winegrowers who will make you discover the vineyard of Château Vieux-Mougnac. Jérémie, the artisan winegrower, will tell you all the secrets of biodynamic vine growing: from the grassing of the vines to the respect of the lunar cycles. You will end with a tasting of the estate's wines in the cellar.

Château le Sepe

You will have to cross the Dordogne to reach the last winegrower of our Saint-Emilion Wine Route. At Château Le Sepe, it is Dominique and Catherine, the owners, who welcome you in person to this sublime estate. Dominique, it is the story of a reconversion that took place on the benches of the school with a professional wine grower's diploma.

At the estate, you will have the opportunity to discover all the stages of winemaking with this activity that bears its name well: from the vine to the glass. Grape varieties, vinification and maturing: you will be taught about the methods of winemaking after your meeting with the winemaker.
